Leonard W. Besinger lived the American Dream. Born outside of Chicago and raised on a farm, he watched his dynamic father take on obstacles and challenges and reach goals that few can even imagine.

He always traded the cow for the beans and it usually worked. And if it didn’t happen right away, he’d stick to it and see that it did.”

Few men have had a larger impact on the Chicagoland area. Leonard W. Besinger designed, developed and built thousands of homes for residents throughout the region, including Clarendon Hills, Chicago, Park Ridge, Arlington Heights, Waukegan and more.

Perhaps his greatest endeavor was the Meadowdale subdivision of Carpentersville. His drive and determination aided thousands of our country’s best, our veterans from World War II and the Korean War, to achieve the American dream, owning your own home. 

This book is a tribute to Leonard W. Besinger, the man with the “Jack-in-the-Beanstalk” mentality.
