On May 16, 2024, The Illinois House of Representatives adopted Resolution No. 784, offered by Representative Suzanne M. Ness. House Resolution No. 784 congratulated author, Philip A. Aleo, for “his dedication to preserving local history and telling the stories of local communities in Illinois and the United States.” 

    On May 21, 2024, a ceremony was held at the Illinois State Library in Springfield, Illinois. Rep. Suzanne Ness presented Mr. Aleo with a copy of House Resolution No. 784. A number of Philip Aleo’s books were also gifted to the library. They are to be placed in the “Author’s Room,” a special collection of books uniquely representing authors affiliated with the State of Illinois.

   Later in the day, Representative Ness warmly addressed the House of Representatives in the House chambers, (Note video below)  acknowledging and commending Mr. Aleo for his dedication and passion of preserving history. He has been writing historical books for over twenty-five years.
