Back in the 1960’s and into the 1980’s, the Chateau Louise was THE NUMBER ONE DESTINATION of West Dundee.
Literally thousands of persons visited the Chateau from all over the country. Movies stars as well as famous comedians walked through her doors. Its hard to believe that something so huge, so popular and so loved, is gone, forever.
Its also amazing that this once beloved resort, located here in West Dundee, included over 150 hotel rooms, four amazing restaurants that were rated among the top 10 in the entire United States. It also included a theatre, 5 bars, raquest ball courts, swimming pools, numerous shops and so much more.
This amazing destination started off as a humble little old dairy barn that had a few hotel rooms added.
“Chateau Louise, Revisited” documents the journey of this once extremely popular resort that resided here in West Dundee. It documents its growth and explains the eventual demise that bewildered a hopeful town.
